Native Range: Mississippi River basin from WI and MN, south to VA, MS, and TX; Lake Michigan drainage, MI and WI; Sabine and Neches River drainages, TX

Spawning Habitat Preferences: Early spring spawners in medium to large rivers in areas of localized, high flow; eggs are laid over sandy substrates

CFI Status: Propagated at CFI in 2015 for propagation protocols. (What do these terms mean?)
