Status: IUCN: Least Concern; USFWS: Not Listed

Threats: Deforestation, habitat fragmentation, impoundments, and sedimentation (What do these terms mean?)

Native Range: Upper Tennessee River drainage in VA, NC, and e. TN

Spawning Habitat Preferences: Spring spawners in riffle areas with high flow of rivers with rocky or boulder substrate; lay eggs in the crevices of large rocks or boulders

CFI Status: Propagated at CFI from 2008-2013 for propagation protocols and restoration. (What do these terms mean?)
