CFI Status: Propagated at CFI from 1999-2002 to develop propagation protocols, toxicity research by the EPA, and mussel host suitability tests.

Native Range: Cahaba River system (Mobile Bay drainage), AL; Coosawattee River (Coosa River system), GA.

Spawning Habitat Preferences: Late spring spawners in rivers with moderate to high flows; bury eggs in sand and fine gravel substrates.
