Snail Darter De-Listing Celebration

In an event at Seven Islands State Birding Park in Kodak, TN, stewards of conservation celebrated the de-listing of the Snail Darter due to recovery from the Endangered Species List

Back in the 1970’s this was the first species to challenge the Endangered Species Act, with TVA v. Hill reaching all the way to the Supreme Court.

At this same event, Conservation Fisheries biologists released Yellowfin Madtoms in the French Broad River, expanding their range in efforts for this species to be the next fish de-listed due to recovery.

We are absolutely honored and humbled to have been a part of such a remarkable celebration!
