Status: IUCN: Endangered; USFWS: Threatened (1987)

Threats: Agricultural practices, deforestation, development, endemism, habitat destruction, and mining. (What do these terms mean?)

Native Range: Upper Cumberland River drainage (Big South Fork and above), KY and TN

Spawning Habitat Preferences: Spring spawners in small streams with moderate flow; eggs are laid in gravel nests of other minnows such as creek chubs

CFI Status: Propagated at CFI from 2011-2014 for propagation protocols and conductivity toxicity research. (What do these terms mean?)
