Status: IUCN: Least Concern

Threats: Deforestation, development, pollution, and sedimentation (What do these terms mean?)

Native Range: Upper Tennessee River drainage in VA, NC, TN, and GA

Spawning Habitat Preferences: Mid-late spring spawners in medium creeks to large rivers with fast flow; lay eggs in a gravel substrate

CFI Status: Propagated at CFI from 2003-2007 to develop propagation protocols and reintroduction; from 2013-2015 for refining propagation protocols and reintroduction. (What do these terms mean?)
