Status: IUCN: Endangered; USFWS: Endangered (1993)

Threats: Agricultural practices, development, endemism, habitat destruction, mining, pollution, and sedimentation (What do these terms mean?)

Native Range: Tennessee River drainage (Clinch River and Duck River), TN

Spawning Habitat Preferences:  Late spring into summer spawners in streams with low-moderate flow; lay clutches of eggs under small to medium-sized flat rocks and empty mussel shells

CFI Status: Propagated at CFI from 2000-2003 and 2007-2008 to develop propagation protocols and for potential future restoration. (What do these terms mean?)
