Status: IUCN: Vulnerable; USFWS: Proposed Threatened

Threats: Agricultural practices, climate change, habitat fragmentation, impoundments, and sedimentation (What do these terms mean?)

Native Range: Upper Tennessee River, TN, NC, and VA

Spawning Habitat Preferences: Early to mid-spring spawners in large creeks to small rivers with moderate to high flow; lay eggs in gravel substrates

CFI Status: Propagated at CFI from 2017-2020 to develop propagation protocols, restoration, and monitoring; only monitoring from 2021-2022. (What do these terms mean?)
